System Requirements for Online Courses

Online courses require the use of a personal computer and Internet access. For best results, we recommend the following.

Internet Connection:

Your online course experience will be greatly enhanced by using a cable modem, DSL, or other high-speed connection. You may certainly access your online courses through a dial-up connection, but we recommend that you also have access from a high-speed location such as MMCC's computer labs or your local library. Many online courses offer multimedia components that may require lengthy downloads. Contact the Help Desk with any specific questions.

Mac:
OS X.1 or higher

One of the following browsers:

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher
Safari 2.0 or higher
Opera 9.0 or higher

Some courses require additional software.

To be best prepared, we recommend that you install the following software, available for free download. If you are unable to download the software, contact the Distance Education Help Desk for assistance

If your course uses Podcasts, you may want to download iTunes.
